Daria Sheina Studio is a Vancouver-based multidisciplinary practice specializing in residential, commercial, and public design projects, spanning diverse types and scales.
At DSS, design is not just a service—it’s a responsibility, a dialogue, and a catalyst for meaningful change. The studio embraces complexity, values collaboration, and approaches every project with curiosity, care, and intellectual rigour. Guided by a holistic mindset, each commission is shaped by its unique cultural, social, environmental, and technological context. By pushing creative boundaries, DSS delivers design solutions that are thoughtful, forward-thinking, and uncompromising in quality.
Current work includes collaborations with First Nations communities on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, missing middle housing developments in Vancouver, and remote sustainable initiatives across British Columbia.

Born and raised in Moscow, Daria holds a Master of Architecture from the Moscow Architectural Institute, with a focus on Residential and Public Buildings. Before relocating to Canada, she worked as a lead architect at several prominent firms—including the award-winning FORM Bureau—where she directed numerous high-profile projects, including the Education Center for the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, a leading contemporary art institution in Moscow.
In 2016, she joined Bricault Design in Vancouver, deepening her expertise in fabrication techniques and leading notable projects such as the Pangea Pod Hotel (Canada’s first capsule hotel) and Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar, an award-winning fine dining destination in Whistler.
In 2021, she founded her eponymous practice, DSS, as a platform to pursue a more personal and values-driven approach to architecture and design. With a portfolio spanning Moscow, New York, London, Los Angeles, São Paulo, and cities across Canada, she brings a globally informed yet locally grounded sensibility to every project.
Daria is passionate about architecture and design as a force for good—a way to serve people by creating spaces that positively impact communities and enhance well-being.
